Chapel

It is old Chapel (Small Church) in the centre castle.It has been changed into a mosque in the 15th century and after 1930 it was closed for worship.It was restored in 2002 and opened as "Culture and Art House".

The chapel which was built with bridge-stone weave sytem in the 9th century has dimensions of 11×7m.At the Ambon Arch, Jesus uplifting to sky is portrayed.Besides this, the Narthex and other parts of Ambon are ornamented with colored and religious wall pictures (frescos) but, frescos were damaged withing the time...


Ottoman Bath

It is thought toplam hava ben in Thé 10.1 century.There area cold part, warm part, bathing part with 3 basins of bath and water tanks and water tanks and a külhan (oven that heats the hamam from underground) bathing place is covered with one central dome and two half domes.Cold part has been collapsed.'Biye's seen at 4 sides, have the architectural charasterisitic of Anatolian States Era...

Kemere Bridge and Kemerdere Bridge

SUMMARY: Kemer Bridge is in Amasra Castle. And  it is connect two castles.

It binds Sormagir Castle in Boztepe to Zindan Castle in Amasra.The bridge which belongs to Roman period  was built in 9th century...

It is a Roman bridge which was built in the reign of Roman Empire,Claudius and it is in Cevizlik Valley that is 3km to Amasra.It is a part of Roman Road net that passes in front of Kuşkayası Monument at the 8th km and brids Amasra to Bartın.A barely perceptible relief composition at one of the bridge's legs shows 7 soldier figures fighting with lances at Rome-Pontus Wars...



The Post Rock


It is located in the North-east of Small port and built in the Roman Period.This Column is thought to have been constructed to observe and illuminate the sea.There is a rummor among the people that the nearby pool is believed to have been built as the place of Queen  Amastris to swim...

Amastris Amphora

Amasra had been a famous center that produce amphoras at Amastris Period (308 and 285 BC) considering the shape they were similar to Taşoz Amphoras. There were two common types; one is large and the other is naarrow.Large ones resemble Sinom Amphoras with their gradual mouth, high sides, large ones resemblw Sinom Amphoras with their gradual mouth, high sides, large center, ovoidal body and spinous bottom.Their seals took place at their throat.Besides this convace inscription AMCHT/PIOC and at right bottom side an ivy leaf took place.The narrow ones resemble Heraclia Amphoras. Their seals are at their throat like the large ones.



The most important charasteristic of Amastris Amphoras is that a line at the edges of the mounth, and their seals aren't at the sides but they are at their throat...

Geneo Emblems

İn the 13th century, Genoas had mayn colonies such as;Samastro, Sakız Island, Foça, Galata, Samsun and Kefe.Genoas(İtalians) fixed their emblems on the castle walls they captured.Their aim was to tell public that all former thinga builty by Genoas.Also, Amasra Castle presents mayn emblem collections.



Blazons are 3 sets formed of 3 figures.Usually the figure in the middle is cross which symbolizes Genoa City.At its right, ther is an emblem of Doc's Family who rules Genoa and at its left there is the emblem of the consule who represents Genoan rule in Amasra...

Kuşkayası Street Monument

It's in Kuşkayası area, 4km far from Amasra and on Amasra-Bartın Highway.It was built in 41-54 AC by Gaius Julius Aguilla, who is assigned to Bitinya-Pontus Governership after being the commander of eastern states Building Force at the time of Roma Emperor Germanious Cladius. It is known to be one in the world.

It was built to commemorate Rome Emperor and it was a part of Roman road network.It contains sitting couch, rock niches and two tablets complementing each other with Rome Soverignty Eagle and King Statue
which is carved into rocks with relief technique.

King statue and Soverignty Eagle's heads are destroyed.In the niche that is around king figure and in the tablets which were found in the west away from the reliefs, are written that 'G.J. Anguilla split themountain and built this resting place with his own allocation for peace and friendship among nations.

The last trace of Roman Highway which has about 5m width is in front of this monument.And it's understood that Monument has a monumental fountain and in the lenght of time it collapsed.

Moreover,another monument which is very bare and in pair material with the Roman Period is seen at the Sayyan Roch Hill, overlooking to Amasra...
